Hop Hop – Easter 2011

Easter was such a fun day. Well… not only the day-of but leading up to it as well.

Easter Bunny & Blakey

The Highlights:
4/2/11–Blake-size Easter Bunny
So, we went to South Coast Plaza to walk around not planning on doing anything Easter related. But as we rounded the corner, there sat the fluffy, mechanical, dog-resembling, talking Bunny. Because there wasn’t a line, we decided to do it. I have to admit–the thing was freaky. Blake loved it though because it talked to him…like real sentences, “Hi Blake. I’m the Easter Bunny.” He loved it so much that before we left while giving it a hug, he almost ripped the creepy thing’s head off.

4/23/11–Vinegar & Blakey don’t mix
The night before Easter, we decided to dye eggs. A gallon of vinegar and a fun Easter kit might sound like a good time but with a one year old, not so much.

End result: Mike attempted to dye one egg, Blake broke another egg, and I finished up the rest on the kitchen counter.

Where's the egg?

4/24/11–Easter Day

Even though he’s little, Blakey sure is smart and completely understood the fun of finding Easter eggs. I shared this picture with Jamie and a few others because it was the cutest.

We ended up at my mom’s house and spent the day hunting for eggs and enjoying some family time.

Gosh, I can’t wait to have more kiddies. Love you!

Disney Days

Caden & Blake

To be honest, I was 100% against getting Disneyland passes.

I thought…the “specialness” of this place is going to disappear because Blake is going to be used to going every other week. Mike, my other kid, swayed me and I’m glad he did. We have had such great times there already–with the Smith family, Greeley family, my family, and Nello on Father’s Day (watch for other blog posts!).

Here is Caden (Brandon & Erin’s youngest) with Blake in their stroller. It’s fancy. Two luxurious seats that can house a couple active babies who love graham crackers. If you guys have passes, let’s go!

Cousins

Last Saturday, we went to my dad’s house for a holiday party. We couldn’t get enough of Baby Thomas who is getting so big!

Here is a picture of the cute one:

Blake had a date that night at Gamma’s house. I had to snap a picture today since he was being such a happy boy (but when is he not?).

Love you all! It’s almost Christmas time.

M&J&B

Baby Blake is here–and (boy!) have we been busy!

Obviously, I’ve been really busy with a newborn so this blog has been pretty neglected. Good news though! I’m a new mom with tons of photos to share so… WE’RE BACK!

As all of you know, handsome Baby Blake arrived on September 25, 2009 weighing 5 lbs. 10 oz. See pictures of this exciting (and surprisingly not very painful) day below:

And last, we participated in the annual ALS Walk in October. It was especially important to us this year since Blake’s Grandma (Mike’s mom, Jeanne) passed away from the disease just little over a month ago. If you’d like to donate, please click here. Thank you for all who donated and came out to walk in memory of Jeanne Wright. We miss you Grandma Jeanne!

Talk to you all soon!

Results and more!

Hi Family and Friends!

A few updates:

My glucose test came back okay! Thank you for all the sweet texts, emails, and phone calls.

Last Wednesday, I went to a lovely breast feeding class. Answer me this: Do you know what a nipple sandwich is? Here’s what my little one looked like, dirty face and all:

Last, but not least, Uncle Russ, Aunt Karen, and Bryan graciously sent us a highchair (see pic), baseball onesie, bat, ball, and baseball glove. Upon receiving the package, Mike ripped open the baseball bat and began practicing…like it was HIS gift. Thank you guys for making this time in our lives extra special! We love and miss you!

Glucose Test – Take Two

After getting the awful news that I failed my first glucose test, I had to go back today for a lovely three-hour poking session. Yes, I got my blood drawn four different times…once at 7:00 a.m. then 8, 9, and 10. Did I mention I didn’t get to leave either?

This was my entertainment:

Wish me luck that the results come back okay.

Miss you all! xxoo, Jen

Eduardo the Eggplant

Baby’s now the size of an eggplant!
That oh-so-handy sense of equilibrium is kicking in, and baby’s learning to distinguish right side up from upside down. (Yes, there has definitely been a lot of movement.)

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly — he might be able to pick up baby’s heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby’s also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink — perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
