A Rainy Saturday

Sometimes I forget to blog about what a typical day is like in the Tomarelli household. I want to capture big events, like birthdays and holidays, but also the little things too. I know we’ll look back at this and be thankful for a few photos that captured just an average rainy day.

The funny thing is, this wasn’t an average day. Today was the first time Blake saw a movie at a real movie theater. I know it may not seem like much, but taking a very active little boy to an hour and a half movie could have been a challenge. We all enjoyed popcorn and juice while watching Monsters, Inc. And after an hour of the show, we decided to go. Blake couldn’t resist the stairs.

It was still raining so we headed off to Jump ‘n’ Jammin (a local place that has a bounce house and random obstacle courses) which was a madhouse of little ones running around. B burned off so much energy that he fell asleep around 5:30 p.m. Wish us luck once 3 a.m. rolls around.. He’ll be jumpin’ into our bed asking for cartoons and pancakes!

1. After a shower, Blake waking up Daddy wearing his new robe. He’s such a little man. // 2. B playing with his favorite Christmas gift–the green trash truck from Tia. // 3. Sipping on some juice and getting comfy in the theater. // 4. Picture of us before the show starts. // 5. & 6. Crawling through the maze and posing for a picture at J’n’J.

B Turns 3

Today our little guy turned three. It’s weird that while eating breakfast in bed–a yummy treat of donuts and oj and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse–I started saying, “Three years ago, at 4:25 a.m. we met for the first time…” Then M chimed in, “Hey that’s about the same time he got into bed with us this morning.” It really made me think back of that day and how truly wonderful it was.

And now three years later, B is this funny, crazy, sweet boy. His personality alone makes me smile. And how perceptive he is. And how excited he gets to be around family and “MY friends” at school. I can’t wait to see what this next year holds. We love you baby boy. Happy 3rd Birthday!

Disney Cars Land

Believe me–I’m kinda sick of posting about Disneyland. But, I had to share just one tiny post on the NEW Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure. We went Tuesday, so it had only been open a few days.

What we loved:

1. Radiator Springs – It felt like you were really in the little town! I can’t wait to see it without the crowds to get the full experience.

2. So many places to eat – When I got Just Spotted‘s email in my inbox and read things like “Queso” and “Apple/Cheddar Pie” I just had to visit. Lines were too long to actually BUY and enjoy something but we’ll be back.

3. New rides – Blakey’s excited! He really wanted to go on Luigi’s Flying Tires (pic below) but, again, the lines were way too long for an active two-year-old.

Talk to you soon (about something OTHER than Disney),

J

A Post-riffic Mother’s Day

I’ve had a lot of things on my mind lately. The best thing to get over a brain full of awfulness? Blake. :)

Mother’s Day was definitely something I was looking forward to. We decided to spend a day at Blakey’s favorite place–Disneyland. (Surprised? I know. We are becoming regulars… Good thing is, I’m trying to fill-in-the-blanks for those days..or um..years I skipped adding things to the blog…way before Mickey Mouse was in the picture.) Anyway, here are a few shots of us enjoying another fun day. This time I was treated to a new “Tink” shirt and a yummy cookie in the shape of Mic himself (that thing B is holding that resembles a character minus the eyes). His pants were tasty.

Exhausted at 2pm, we decided to leave and stop by the place where Mike’s Mom is buried. It’s always a bittersweet day for us. She encompassed everything I want to be for Blake: patient, sweet, and always there for her child–no matter what. Blakey brought tears to our eyes when he rolled up his hand painted card, put it in her flower holder, and gave her a kiss. In true form though, he then started kissing everyone’s plaque. Mike said, “Oh I’m sure Grandma Jeanne’s neighbors sure like those kisses!” He’s such a love.

M + B, thanks for a very special day. I’m so thankful to be a mom.
